On this post I wanted to go over ways I have found to get info and ideas out about this great sport we all love. I want to share a few ways I have found info, and gathered ideas and met people from all kinds of various backgrounds. What we all share is a common interest of chasing scaly creatures of all shapes and sizes. No matter what you fish for (I loooove chasin carp on the fly) smallies, pan fish, trout, bones, tarpon, permit, you name it we all share passion and challenge of catching fish on the fly. I'm just going to give you a few of the ways I have found good info. So let's have a look at some of the ways that I have gotten info. Cheers and tight Lines!

The first obvious way that I found to wast time and entertain myself was Youtube, you can type almost anything in the search bar with the word "flyfishing" in it and will come up on various thing. I've been so distracted at times by this that I often dive in and make a right turn 15 minutes later and am watching something completly Different than what I searched for, that is the good and bad of this stuff. I have ADHD and that attention span of a gnat and will often get distracted in seconds! haha, that's not my fault just my brain. Good stuff can be found all over the internet but Youtube has been a vary good outlet for me. I've learned so much over a couple years, that I would have to learn the hard way. Don't you worry the learning curve on fly fishing is steep and long lol..Some of the best pages I follow on Youtube, just to name a few are

-The Orvis Channel
-In the riffle
-The guys at Fly Fish Food

Another great way, mostly to get fishing buddies and just socialize in the community is Facebook groups about fly fishing. I'm a junkie when it comes to groups of like minded people, I'm part of several groups that are each individual in their own way, which makes them fun and unique. I'm part of a couple fly tying groups ( Don't ask about tying, it will consume you just like fly fishing) Just buy fly from guys like me shameless plug, Oh well I like to make money. I'm part of groups just dedicated to fly fishing in general. Then we have groups that are like no other, but at some point grip and grin fish pics are posted and crude comments are made and in the end we all have a good laugh. Here is a couple of examples of good groups on social media. Theweekendwade

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNDDDDDDDDDDD, By far the best way to learns is to just go out and FISH! It's where I learned the most valuable lesson, Ive broke gear, Slipped, fell busted my ass on every mudslide, rock and branch on the white river. I learned how to fight fish ( Actually land them) Present flies and read the water. I love the tranquility of the calm spring or fall morning, catching gnats in your teeth after choking on them and spitting those little critters out! haha, no really in all seriousness it the best way to learn about all things fly fishing. you will learn the most valuable lessons in life when you have that fly swinging through the air and eventually ( after a while lot of knots, snags and cussing, maybe a few beer. Hey whatever you're into) catching a fish. All in all I just want to share info on the sport I love and help a few other people out along the way. Go fish, Follow me on instagram, facebook and subscribe to the blog and we will all be ok at the end of the day!

I am often asked "how did you get into fly fishing?' or " you fly fish?" The next comment is " I always wanted to learn how to do that but I think it's hard." Truth is I was one of those fascinated, but intimidated people. As a kid I would wake up early on Saturday mornings to watch the now late, great Tony Wejebe on Spanish Fly , or Walter's Cay Chronicles as they traveled all over the world and threw these beautifully created flies across the most remote and distant places all over the ocean and world. To me these places seemed so magical and far away. I would sit there in the early mornings, legs crossed with a big bowl of cereal, mesmerized by these fishing journeys. This intrigue stayed with me and in the back of my mind for quite a long time. I would often watch videos on Youtube as an adult of far off fly fishing destinations. This fly curiosity stayed with me until one of my random Cabelas trips to the bargain cave. I paced aro

"What the??" Is what my wife said as I told her I was creating a blog about Fly fishing. I've been looking at ways to create, express and waste time for my favorite hobby. I've spent so much money, time and energy chasing fish from my home state of the Arizona desert all the way to Central Indiana, where I live now. I don't really know what I'm doing with a blog, but I'm stubborn (my wife will agree) and won't give up easily. What I hope for this blog is exciting content that I think is important in fly fishing. Tag my blog on instagram  @brandonkypreos , I want to to give opinions, reviews and advice to the best of my knowledge. I'll talk about my daily experiences on the water. Don't expect me to give you my #langitudes ,haha. I want to expand the readers and my knowledge and perception. I'm excited for this opportunity to express my love for fly fishing and waste some time in this cold Indiana winter. Tight lines!

Spring Fling

Pond Fishing 101 is here and It's #theweekendwade annual Spring Fling and spring has sprung. About time the cold and snow moved on and let the sun out and the grass get greened. I'm so sick of ice, snow and cold that I'm celebrating the first day of spring by working overtime! Lol, just kidding I can not wait one more day to get out and hit the water. Usually the ponds and shallower water is what I spend most my time around this time of the year. They warm up faster and are typically alot more productive and accessible with the rain we typically get during the months or March and April. The ponds are always a good choice when the rain is in, they don't get muddy and with the increased water flow I target the inlets and have damn good success with crappie, bass, and sunfish. These ponds are all over Indy and a lot of other areas like business districts and housing developments. I spot any water I see while driving ( squirrel ) and immediately think there is bass in t
