Reviews and products

So I wanted to do a review on my blog for products that I personally have used and and experienced. About 8 months ago I was cruising the facebook, Searching a few marketplaces and selling group pages. I typed in an Orvis 8 wt combo. Click the link to buy the awesome combo or browse around. I messaged the guy selling to rod and ended up purchasing the complete combo. This was a complete combo with rod, reel, line and leader along with a rod sock and carry case.

As soon as I got my package, (I was as happy as a little kid on christmas day) I immediately drove down to my local carp spot, Got a line wet and tried to catch my favorite fish on the fly. Yeah, carp on the fly are my favorite fish to pursuit, you should try it. Anyway, I ripped out some line and and begin to cast my montana hybrid fly, almost instantaneously I felt at home casting this rod, it loaded easily and had a good solid back bone, this rod had great action and casted easily. I was able to cast the line with ease, while laying my fly down gently, so as to not spook the cautious carp. These carp have been pressured and chased before and are very skittish. The line was able to shoot with ease and has a very nice taper on it that is a great overall line that can be used in various situations. It worked great for me while chasing carp. The line was very well designed and put together.

The large arbor reel has a very smooth drag. It gives you the ability to put even pressure on big fish, without the feeling of the snap because you cranked down the drag. It takes up line well and gives you the ability to take the line and get it back on the reel very fast. My only complaint is that I cant switch my reel to a right hand reel because I'm left handed (the world is not made for left handed people.)

All in all, I highly recommend this well put together rod and reel set. It gives you a great head start to begin fly fishing or add another rod to your arsenal. Every fly angler can use another rod and their wives or significant other can agree, hahaha.. Yeah right my wife was like "why?" I explained it to her and she said, "well you have like 5 already" and when I tried to explain to her the logic behind it, she was still confused, I'm also confused at why she need multiple purses or shoes for every outfit, but we agree to disagree. Either way You have everything you need for a great price and a solid deal, I urge anyone that wants a good set up to head over to your local Orvis or head online to get this set up and hit the water. Tight lines #theweekendwade

The Wife said "I got you a surprise," which she usually does because she likes buying me gifts. I'm never mad about gifts but she buys me alot of clothes and that's all fine and dandy but I love fishing! I asked her about the surprise and responded "what is it?" she said "guess!" I took a few average shots and the she finally said "it's PostFly!" I was kinda caught off guard by the comment and was like "what?" Then it hit me what PostFly is. Let me explain..

PostFly is a mail direct fly tying box full off goodies every angler either has, wants or will eventually need all in a compact box that is sent to you directly each month and its both a surprise and exciting to receive every month. You get to select the target species and the style of fishing you do, My wife made the correct selection and I received the "Warm Water" box, how she knew is beyond me, she must really listen when I talk about fishing apparently. Each month you get all the tying supplies you need for a specific pattern and usually 2 extra goodies and a newsletter for your target species. The box contains all materials needed for 6 flies.

This is a great gift for anyone that is into fly fishing or doesnt have a fully stocked fly tying desk. I know I've spent alot of time looking for certain materials at the fly shop and PostFly solves that by sending them to you every month. I've received 2 boxes now and am always excited for the next one! #theweekendwade

Back Cast

I am often asked "how did you get into fly fishing?' or " you fly fish?" The next comment is " I always wanted to learn how to do that but I think it's hard." Truth is I was one of those fascinated, but intimidated people. As a kid I would wake up early on Saturday mornings to watch the now late, great Tony Wejebe on Spanish Fly , or Walter's Cay Chronicles as they traveled all over the world and threw these beautifully created flies across the most remote and distant places all over the ocean and world. To me these places seemed so magical and far away. I would sit there in the early mornings, legs crossed with a big bowl of cereal, mesmerized by these fishing journeys. This intrigue stayed with me and in the back of my mind for quite a long time. I would often watch videos on Youtube as an adult of far off fly fishing destinations. This fly curiosity stayed with me until one of my random Cabelas trips to the bargain cave. I paced aro

"What the??" Is what my wife said as I told her I was creating a blog about Fly fishing. I've been looking at ways to create, express and waste time for my favorite hobby. I've spent so much money, time and energy chasing fish from my home state of the Arizona desert all the way to Central Indiana, where I live now. I don't really know what I'm doing with a blog, but I'm stubborn (my wife will agree) and won't give up easily. What I hope for this blog is exciting content that I think is important in fly fishing. Tag my blog on instagram  @brandonkypreos , I want to to give opinions, reviews and advice to the best of my knowledge. I'll talk about my daily experiences on the water. Don't expect me to give you my #langitudes ,haha. I want to expand the readers and my knowledge and perception. I'm excited for this opportunity to express my love for fly fishing and waste some time in this cold Indiana winter. Tight lines!

Spring Fling

Pond Fishing 101 is here and It's #theweekendwade annual Spring Fling and spring has sprung. About time the cold and snow moved on and let the sun out and the grass get greened. I'm so sick of ice, snow and cold that I'm celebrating the first day of spring by working overtime! Lol, just kidding I can not wait one more day to get out and hit the water. Usually the ponds and shallower water is what I spend most my time around this time of the year. They warm up faster and are typically alot more productive and accessible with the rain we typically get during the months or March and April. The ponds are always a good choice when the rain is in, they don't get muddy and with the increased water flow I target the inlets and have damn good success with crappie, bass, and sunfish. These ponds are all over Indy and a lot of other areas like business districts and housing developments. I spot any water I see while driving ( squirrel ) and immediately think there is bass in t
